Presidential greetings
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the
Society for Ultrastructural Pathology, it is my
pleasure to cordially invite you to the Ultrapath XIV Meeting
to be held July 6-11, 2008 in Crete. The meeting will take place
in the superb facilities of the Capsis Elite Resort, on a wonderful
peninsula close to Heraklion. The program will feature a distinguished
panel of internationally renowned pathologists and electron microscopists
and will address the interests of not only dedicated ultrastructural
pathologists and technicians, but also pathology residents and
trainees, general surgical pathologists, and other scientists
in the field of biomedical research. The congenial atmosphere
of the Ultrapath meetings and the special charm of the venue
provide an ideal setting for ample interaction among the faculty
and participants, promoting the exchange of ideas and setting
the groundwork for future collaborations. The social program will
blend the memories of ancient civilizations with flavors of the
Greek culture.
This is a unique opportunity to combine an attractive, comprehensive,
and updated scientific program with the natural beauty and unique
historical background of this magnificent Mediterranean island.

Dear friends and colleagues,
It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I welcome you all at
the Ultrapath XIV conference in Heraklion, Crete. It is both
an honor and a privilege to host this conference taking over
from an array of distinguished predecessors. It's been over 25
years since the first Ultrapath conference was held in Aspen,
Colorado. We have come a long way both as scientists and as a
society in general. Though our methods and practices may have
changed over time, nevertheless, our main goal has remained the
same. Serving science and foremost the cancer patient.
Through this conference, apart from promoting and exchanging
our ideas and findings in research, we will attempt to generate
new interests in the field and pass on the flame to our younger
colleagues. Therefore, I invite you all to the beautiful island
of Crete and I believe that it will be an interesting and productive
meeting. See you all there!
