Ultrastructural Pathology and the Internet

With the onset of the web explosion, everyone who is anyone is on the Internet. BEAM, the newsletter of the Southeastern Microscopy Society, is now in cyberspace. You can also access other websites pertaining to electron microscopy (EM) if you use the Yahoo search engine. Click on options on the first page of Yahoo to see additional search engines such as Open Text, Alta Vista, Lycos, WebCrawler and DejaNews. There were 25 hits for EM using the Yahoo search engine and 1,275 hits using Open Text. With Open Text, I stumbled onto the web page for the International Electron Microscopy Society Meeting in Sydney Australia .

Society for Ultrastructural Pathology and Cyberspace

The SUP website is finally active!

Any member of the society can publish material that is related to ultrastructural pathology at this site. Back issues of the SUP Newsletters and comments about Ultrapath VIII (August 4 - 9, 1996) are also on-line.

To understand the complexity of setting up the SUP website, I refer you to the series of articles "Diary of a Madman. Setting Up an NT WebServer", Hank Mishkoff, WEBsmith Issues 1-3, 1996.

Irving Dardick has kindly accepted the responsibility for editing the material at this web site as well as converting documents to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) format.
