The next UltraPath conference will be held in Asheville, NC, August 2-7, 1998. Allan Tucker will be the program chair. I will be in charge of local arrangements.
We hope to make arrangements to have the meeting at the Grove Park Inn. This is a magnificent resort hotel in the Blue Ridge Mountains, overlooking the city of Asheville, NC. It is a great family vacation spot, with golf, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, white water rafting, tennis, all readily available. Meeting facilities are state-of-the-art -- they even have the ability to up-link to a satellite if we wished -- but I don't think we need that facility! There is local jet service and the hotel is totally modern with air conditioning and other amenities to make your stay enjoyable. More information later.
The meeting will not conflict with the Microscopy Society of America/Microbeam Analysis Society (MSA/MAS) Joint Meeting in Atlanta on July 12-16, 1998, or the 14th International Congress on Electron Microscopy in Cancun, Mexico from August 31 to September 4, 1998.
