Clinical History

This 41 year old female presented with complaints of staring into space, leg swelling and tiredness. She also had headaches for five days prior to admission. There is also a history of a chronic seizure disorder.

Her past history is significant for the lupus erythematosus, aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, hypertension and thyroid disease.

Current medications included steroids, dilantin and methotrexate.

The clinical impression was that of lupus encephalopathy.

Imaging studies were performed.
