Clinical History

A 60-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with a tumor of some duration in her right axilla, measuring 9 x 7 cm. Mammography was negative. A sarcoma-like tumor was resected and submitted for light microscopy, immunocytochemistry and electron microscopy. Differential diagnoses included sarcoma, lymphoma and carcinoma. The tissue for electron microscopy was immediately processed and evaluated the next day.
